We tried Kanpai in Mansfield for lunch, and we were seriously impressed. The tonkotsu ramen was absolutely wonderful , rich, creamy broth with deep, slow-simmered flavor that felt both comforting and elevated. We personally added a little chile pepper to give it some extra heat, which made it perfect for our taste.
The real standout was the fatty salmon. It was hands down the best I’ve ever had buttery, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Honestly, it was on par with Nobu. That’s not something I say lightly.
It’s not cheap this is definitely quality over quantity but it is absolutely worth it. You can taste the freshness and care in every bite. If you’re looking for high-quality Japanese cuisine in Mansfield, Kanpai delivers.
We’ll definitely be back.

The best Japanese place in Mansfield!
My bf and I got Shoyu Ramen and Tonkatsu Ramen. Both are incredibly good and it tasted light and clean!
My sister got the Chasu Bowl and she really like it!
We also ordered Red Snapper Sashimi, Tuna Toro Sashimi, and Fatty Salmon Sashimi. All of those were so good, HIGHLY recommend getting them.
Last thing we ordered was Takoyaki! Crispy outside soft inside, with a good amount of octopus in it. Absolutely delicious and it stayed crispy and hot for the duration of our meal!
Service was SPECTACULAR. 10/10 very attentive, super nice, and really friendly!
Overall 100/10 haha, I rarely write a really long review for a place and so this is one of the top places for me. Will come again 100%.

Food was overall very good, better than most sushi spots in the area, and probably the best local option if you’re looking for an all-you-can-eat experience which is optional at this restaurant.
We ordered the all-you-can-eat menu, which was $45 per person. It’s a bit limited compared to the regular menu but still a decent amount of options between nigiri, sashimi, appetizers, and sushi, but there still fewer items to choose from compared to their regular menu but you will definitely leave with a full stomach.
Overall, it’s a great option for all-you-can-eat sushi and we’ll definitely be back, but next time we plan to order from the regular menu to have more variety.

Date night - I don’t post restaurant reviews very often… but I had to share this one.
We finally tried Kanpai Izakaya & Ramen, and we genuinely loved everything we ordered. The hamachi chili, miso salmon, wagyu roll, gyoza, and edamame were all fresh, beautifully plated, and full of flavor nothing missed.
The vibe is gorgeous, moody lighting, cherry blossoms, cozy but elevated. It feels special without trying too hard, which makes it perfect for date night. The staff was kind and welcoming, which always makes a big difference.
If you haven’t been yet, they’re relatively new to Mansfield and absolutely worth a visit. In front of Market Street. We’ll definitely be back. 🍣🌸

Such a wonderful dining experience! The atmosphere is beautiful with the cherry blossom tree and warm izakaya-style decor — it feels like a little trip to Japan. 🌸
The food was outstanding — the ramen broth was rich and flavorful, the sashimi was fresh and perfectly prepared, and every small plate we tried was delicious (especially the takoyaki!). 🍜🍣
The service was friendly and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable. This spot is perfect for both casual nights out and special occasions. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic ramen and izakaya dishes in a great atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

This is definitely a hidden gem. Everything we ordered was delicious. Tried a little of everything and it did not disappoint. Sushi was fresh and they offer cuts of fish that not all places do such as churro, otoro, and gindara. The beef tongue and wagyu skewers were really good of their grill menu. The mandaiko creamy udon was also delicious!!! Will be back to try other items like ramen and other sushi. Inside is decorated really nice and it’s a cozy place. Service was 10/10. Everyone was helpful and nice. Water stayed filled. A must try in the area forsure.

This is my second time coming back and let me just say, everything was absolutely INCREDIBLE both times. My first visit was before they did their afternoon closing so it was more calm but the service was impeccable and everything was delicious. My second visit was during dinner and it was a full house but we got seated fairly quickly and once again, service and food was amazing!! 10/10 will forever and always recommend!! Don’t wait, just go enjoy yummy Japanese food!
Bonus: the music made me feel like I was back in Tokyo which was so fun & nostalgic. Go try it!!

Ignore the reviews below 5 stars! They are just complaints about high quality food being overpriced. I’ve visited over 50 ramen ramen restaurants here in the DFW and nothing has come close to the quality that I found here. I’ve tried the most expensive items on the menu and guarantee they are worth the experience that comes from the flavors you will taste. As someone that is extremely passionate about cooking and the journey that it takes you on I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to try authentic food. They will not disappoint.

The premium AYCE menu was so worth it. The appetizers were so unique and I enjoyed those. I wanted to try the mentaiko udon but unfortunately that wasn't available when I came in, but the mazemen ramen was very good. The sashimi was more like crudo, but those were amazing as well. The fish/meat on the nigiri was so buttery and soft it melts in your mouth. The atmosphere was great, they played good music and it's a cozy little restaurant I enjoyed eating at! Will have to recommend this to my friends for sure.

Truly excellent restaurant! Decor is gorgeous and fun without being overwhelming, service has always been top tier all 4 times we've visited! Tonkatsu ramen is phenomenal, sushi is so so fresh, and appetizers are such a quick, delicious, hit! The broth in the tonkatsu is super rich and satisfying, and the chashu has a beautiful texture (I won't eat it because of the fatty/chewy/unrendered texture at most ramen places). The low wait times on food is also remarkable.

Easy 5 stars, food is delicious, staff is super friendly, ambience is chill. Too bad I haven’t stopped by earlier. I will be back, next time I’m in town.
I'm a huge fan of super dry beer and it's not always offered at most places but they have it here. I started my meal with Gyozo, fried perfectly and yummy. I usually get shishito peppers, they're my favorite where ever I go and it was prepared perfect here! My my main meal was the rice bowl...bold and flavorful!

This Japanese restaurant really impressed me with the variety of dishes and the authentic flavors. In particular, I really like the grilled bacon wrapped in cherry tomatoes on skewers - the soft and fragrant meat combined with the juicy sweetness of the tomatoes creates a rich and fresh flavor. Accompanied by a light creamy mayonnaise sauce sprinkled with a little chili powder, the dish is even more appealing. A culinary experience worth coming back for many times.

I was really impressed with the space at Kanpai Izakaya and Ramen – both cozy and very Japanese style. The dishes here are very diverse, in which I especially like the steamed clams with miso sauce, the broth is rich and fragrant, the clams are fresh, naturally sweet. In addition, the gyoza and tempura fried shrimp are prepared crispy but not greasy. This is definitely the ideal place to enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine .

Food was fresh, delivered quickly, with good service. The prices were a little elevated compared to other nearby sushi restaurants, but the overall experience was great. I ordered several pieces of nigiri, which were fresh. I also had a Rainbow roll that was overflowing with fish. Their hot sake was tasty as well. I will definitely return as this place is great for date night as it impresses with its chic atmosphere and romantic vibes.

This Japanese restaurant really impressed me with its clean space and attentive service. The sushi rolls are beautifully presented, each piece is fresh and has an attractive crunch from the tempura inside. When eating, you can clearly feel the harmony between the rice, seafood and the sauce on top, very tasty and high quality. This is definitely one of the places I want to come back to enjoy more delicious dishes .

I was really impressed with the taste of ramen at this Japanese restaurant. The broth is rich, naturally sweet and aromatic, authentic Japanese taste. The pickled egg is just cooked, the fatty yolk blends with the delicious chewy noodles, very satisfying to eat. The grilled meat is soft, fragrant and cooked to perfection. This is definitely one of the best bowls of ramen I have ever enjoyed .

Beautiful cozy restaurant. The food is really special, well prepared and delicious. Well worth a try.
We came suddenly without a reservation, so we only had 1 hour and 30 minutes to eat. But it was amazing 😉 and delicious.
The staff is very nice and attentive, working very carefully.
The price is suitable for those who want to have a special time without worrying about money .
~ Aliyah D
Update: We tried the ramen this time and it was amazing! Service was much faster! Everything came out amazing, apps were very hot. I was totally happy when they said items were 20-30% off, so I kept ordering more nigiri and sushi 😋 and walked out fatter and happier.
Love love love this restaurant from the ambiance to the food!!!
The fois gras was amazing! Highly recommend that, the otoro, hamachi for nigiri. My husband and daughter really enjoyed their sushi rolls. For apps, we had the crab cheese croquets, spicy tuna poppers, shrimp tempura. My daughter ordered the wagyu skewer and said it was just okay.
The staff was really friendly and let us know that things may take a while. We felt like we didn't have to wait long for the food but the drinks took a little longer. We enjoyed our food so much that we wanted to order a couple more dishes and drinks but it took a while to find the waitress. And we had to ask for wasabi.
Overall the food and drinks were great, and we look forward to coming back. There were a few misses on the service but we still loved every minute of it.
Sorry for the blurry photos, I was more focused on the food this time!

Our first visit to Kanpai did not disappoint! We went with the AYCE option and every dish we tried was fantastic. The service was top-notch—attentive and genuinely friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable and perfect for a relaxed meal. We’ll absolutely be back and will be recommending this spot to family and friends.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in the DFW area. In addition to the impeccable service, every visit, the Tonkotsu ramen can go head to head with ANY of the “top rated” ramen places in the DFW. Trust me, I’ve done the leg work. You won’t regret giving this place a try.
~ Aisha C
I am not a local and searched for good sushi nearby work. I am so glad I came! Otoro, fatty salmon, wagyu nigiri, the rolls, everything was so good. Seemed more authentic than most places, great quality, and I will definitely come back next time I'm in town. You won't regret it!

This restaurant will forever hold a special place in my heart. It was the first place my husband and I visited when we moved to Mansfield, and since then it has been our go-to place day or night or holiday. The food is delicious and impeccable. They definitely pride themselves on that !

10/10. This place is so cute and the detail put into the decor was so impressive. The service was also solid and attentive. Pork belly bao buns (chashu bao) were the best we’ve ever had. Sushi was so fresh and their cocktails were top tier. Ni was sweet and quick thank you so much 💓
~ Nicole
The attention to detail was amazing, the gentle nods and the great collaboration between staff and chef. The service was on another level and the food was incredible, we ordered a multi-course meal that we couldn't stop (even though we were full) for fear of missing out on another great dish.
